The
man knew that the wild animal was a predator. The man named it “nachash,” a
Hebrew word associated with “magic,
omens, spells, bewitchment, and divinations.” The man knew it was the only animal that can
speak the language of the humans. Regardless of what the woman and the
wild animal did, the man failed to keep the terms of his contract and represent
Yahweh. That is why this story is really about something imperfect humans need
